I don't need any adapters or anything for my 300d right?

Adapters?

For the mount you either buy a Sigma made for either the Canon or Nikon.
You need adapters for lenses like Leica but not for Tamron or Sigma

i thought i had heard something mentioned about needing an adapter for some fisheye lense.. maybe it was a pentax or something of that sort.

You might be thinking about the Zenitar 16mm fisheye. It's a Russian lens with a generic mount and you get an adapter for your camera.

The Sigma 15mm fisheye should work with your camrea. Sigma just introduced the DG version of it with new coatings and it's making it's way to sigma4less and adorama so far.

From what I've heard, it's a great lens, but I've no personal experience with it. I'm planning to get the DG version as my next lens in the future as well.

If you are getting the Caonon 10-22, then it may not be worthwhile. The fisheye will have more distortion and may have wider field of view though.
