Not in my part of the world I'm afraid, even without an eclipse... |

I also got a big surprise when my picture got disqualified yesterday. I was even there when it happened. I logged in, and saw my current stats. Read a couple of posts, and then loaded the home page again and there was the most surprising message I've seen. My picture got disqualified.
I just want to say two things:
The reason I got disqualified was for using three borders instead of two (which is the max allowed). I didn't even notice when I did this, for it wasn't on purpose. The borders where tiny: one black pixel, 5 purple pixels, 1 black pixel. I accept my mistake and the disqualification, but I wonder how many people look for the tiniest detail just to disqualify pictures, and I mean details beyond the real faking of a picture. Anyway, my picture wasn't doing so good, it wasn't as if it was going to place in the top of the list.
The other thing I wanted to say is that I didn't even get an email notifying me about the disqualification. I know that DPC sends emails to request for the original image to analize for faults, and I also know that mine didn't need the original image to veirfy if I put threee borders on it.
But still, I think that email is needed to notify the user. What if I didn't log in on Sunday and didn't get to see the disqualification message? What if I log in on Monday and look for my place on the challenge results and I can't find my picture anywhere?
Admins, please read this and take this suggestion.

I just want to make a suggestion for the admins, and I don't know if people missed my post. |

I also agree that a DQed photo should get e-mail. I think this only because we receive e-mails for submissions received. I guess the admins may just be a little optimistic that no one will get DQed so they never thought of such a notification. Can't blame them. Sorry about the border thing, you're not the first to be DQed for such a thing. |

Jenarom, I am going to believe that one of the admins noticed and it is there job to remove. I would hate to think that someone could be so petty as to report someone and get them DQ'd for a 1 pixel black border. That would be real weak...
That stinks, you'll get them next time.

Never look directly at an elipse.

There are all kinds of people in the world...I'll just have to be more careful.

Thanks. At least it doesn't stay in my profile.
