I'm not really going into a formal business, but I'm shooting my first wedding Sunday and would like to have business cards 'just in case'. How does this look?
I'm not very skilled at making sketches online so I thought I'd use some of my images that reflect my areas of interest.
Comments/suggestions appreciated, thanks!

Looks good and clean. My only comment is that it looks like it is not the normal business card size. It should be 3-1/2" x 2".

business cards are 2" x 3.5" so you want to resize to that first. I like the setup of the card, it gives all the information without being in your face.
resize this, then repost it :) |

I like the idea of showing your interests on the card.
But 2 suggestions:
1. The card is going to be 2 by 3.5 inches, and the photos are going to be so small that seeing them and noticing the details will be really really hard, at that size, showcasing your photography skills is near impossible...
2. Everything is centered. For a more dynamic layout try changing the allignment a bit. It's the same idea as a photograph, rule of thirds and all.
One final note: (this was mentioned on another forum thread a few days ago) Robin Williams, The Non Designer's Design Book is really great for simple ideas to improve designs. Even just heading down to a bookstore and leafing through it will give some good ideas.

You can always give the photos at the back. That might increase cost of printing, but anyways you can't fit 4 photos on the front plus all the necessary information you have to give.
And it does not have to be horizontal. You might like it in the portrait orientation also. And as the others said, first resize it to the correct size, and only then will you be able to design it properly. If you don't know/have a graphics software, just cut out papers to the correct size and draw by hand. That will give you some clue as to where to put all the stuff u want. |

I like you putting the photos on the card. I did the same thing and almost always get comments on them when I hand them out. I suggest going with an odd number of photos though. It's so much more interesting to the eye when you do. Either do with 3 or 5. I used 5 and wasn't sure if they would show up on print but they show very good. Here' a sample of mine.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Is this better?
(front)
(back)
(edit, the photo placement for the back is off...for the final version I'd have to do it all in photoshop since MS Word doesn't provide a lot of freedom)

Uhm, well... those little swirlies you used between the words are actually called tilldies and they mean approximately. I realize not everyone knows that, but to those of us who do, it makes your card read funny.
Otherwise I like it. Love the back. I recommend vistaprint.com. they're good & fast.

why do you block out your email and phone? No one's gonna call you, mine's been on my website forever, I'm still waiting for my phone to ring.

I don't. I never knew you lived in Pittsburgh though...how close to the city are you...we should get together some time.

I live about 45 minutes north-east in Butler. I've been meaning to go to a Pittsburgh gtg but haven't been home for any long period of time.
