I have to agree... if your'e wanting both foreground and the moon exposed for the shot you'll need to combine 2 exposures. If you just want the moon, then f/11 1/125 should be close.

It can only be done with two images. I took a photograph focused on the trees and very quickly focused on the moon and took the second picture. It did take a few minutes in PS to get it right.

| Can't you simply focus the lens and then switch from manual to say aperture mode, that takes but a brief second. And I imagine i could pop-off two shots of the moon before it moved much... |

I have had good success following this:
For a full moon on a clear night, using ISO 100, expose at f/8 for 1/250 sec. Increase the exposure one stop if there are clouds or haze. For a half moon, increase the exposure one stop, two stops for a quarter moon. |

For what it's worth...here is my two shot moon landscape...
...The reflection may be a little of a stretch but I think it looks ok!
