Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6

There was a fire in my home town last night that I was able to get to and take some photos. Anyway, I sent some in to the news station and they are in their slide show now! I know for some of you that won't be a big deal, but for me it is awesome! Just thought I would share the excitement. The link is here. My photos are the first 9 in the slide show.

Greetings,
Hey as one who has been on both sides of the hose/camera relationship, be sure to contact the local FD, they would probably appreciate copies of anything you've got. While the FD itself will probably not purchase them, giving them a copy or two can do wonders to build your rep with them which can pay off down the road! You might also find the individual Firefighters might be interested in purchasing copies for themselves.

Yeah, I pretty much take it everywhere with me. As for giving them to the firefighters, the guy on the top of the ladder is someone that I work with too, so I've already made arrangement for that. It'll be nice to get them some photos of themselves in action. If I were there, I would want the same thing also.

Bad situation but awesome job. You should be proud 9 photos on the news is great! I bet the firefighters would love a copy.

That is awesome scott! Those are some great shots too! You really captured some great emotions and feeling! Not to steal your thread, but I actually had one on the news last night too. It wasn't in the paper, but it was cool. A good feeling. We had some major storms and a few tornados come through here yesterday, so being the dumbass that I am, I went looking for photo ops. It was just mostly raining and windy, but a few tornados hit a couple trailer parks here. I didn't find a tornado, but I got a decent shot of lightning on the lake. It aint a great shot, but it was through my windshield. Congrats again, and keep shooting.

Wow. I watched this on the news last night - big news story. You did a fine job. I'm very impressed.

I carry my camera all the time, too. And the most interesting thing I've caught was an 11 yo driving his mother's van, crashing into a car and stopping. The whole thing was 40 feet.
