You need to use the "Upload a New Image to 'Portfolio'" and not the "Upload a New Print to 'Portfolio'" box.

That's your problem. 1.48MB takes a long time to upload over dialup. You're not locked up, it's just taking that long.
If you're uploading for display only, I recommend resizing before you upload, as you would for a challenge. To conserve space I generally size non-challenge portfolio items to 100K or smaller.

i tell you what, i know why the 'tech. support' people are generally an angry bunch and that their first question is always "is it plugged in".
sometimes, i need directions on how to put on a shirt.
sorry Club...i read that part wrong. (hehe)it's gotta be the blonde. |

well, i uploaded it that big because it's a really old photo of my uncle in a navy airplane and someone wanted to spruce it up for me. |

Does tech support show up with a 6 pack and a "just go in the backroom Joe" card?

Well isn't "putting on a shirt" sort of like calling tech support and saying "I'd like to give myself spyware and maybe a virus"?
(Bringing virii into this conversation is tricky, I know)

It's "sort of" made up...it's not a real dictionary word. The plural of virus is viruses of course, but virii makes more sense (radius, radii)
