ok folks...in the midst of redesigning my website...

//www.davidpaullphotography.com

I only have the main page up so far...but go check it out tell me what you think of the design so far.

Man I gotta say, learning all that in one day is freaking rough, no lie. I mean I knew the basics of html, but frames, iframes, and tables, for the most part are all new to me heh as well as javascripts and mouse events, pre-loading images, swapping images...

Now that the hard part is done, it's all just arranging stuff, and thinking of a good flow....

thanks in advance.

EDIT: I'll post up once everything is all the way done...
EDIT2: should be all done by like Saturday at the latest.

Looks good. Loads quickly, easy to navigate. There's nothing especially memorable about it, nothing that sticks in your mind if that makes sense, but I don't think that's especially necessary for a business website.

It feels weird writing in the third person, but I've noticed a lot of people's sites are like that...oh well...we'll see if it can generate some business.

is where the text is right now going to before updates? ill it turn into a scroll box?
If yes, looking good. If no, i would pull the text down a bit from the 4 picture icons to give the page more balance.

building on what mesmeraj said, you might want to pull the whole active area down a bit. at higher resolutions, there's a lot of dead space at the bottom. including an upper indent would help keep the page looking well balanced.

Since this forum (web site suggestions) is for suggestions for improving THIS web site, I'm going to move this to the general discussion forum. Good luck with your site.

I agree with the comments above.

I am currently building my website too, But I am doing it myself! HTML and Java can be a lot more complicated than you first think and I am just doing simple stuff! Not online yet for anyone to see though...

One thing I would suggest is to view your new page from different browsers. I used to use Internet Explorer, though recently switched to Opera which I found was a little less forgiving to small errors in html! The spacing on my page was completely up the spout when viewed through Opera!
