I have a Canon battery and a Power2000 battery which has a little more juice at 7.4v 900mAh, and both run pretty well.

I want to pick up another battery. Before I go for the Power2000 again, for $18.95 (free shipping as long as I get it up to $25), I wonder if anyone has used any of the more powerful batteries, such as the Sterlingtek, 1100 mAh, which is actually a little cheaper.

Recommendations?

I know what you're gonna say, no way is it that cheap and is legit. I bought a 300D battery from them before, and it was better than the canon battery that came with it.

Wow, that's pretty cheap. I would be a little worried about quality control for a LI at that price, and upon a failuer that it would fry my camera! But I'll look into user experiences on the web.

Anyone here using this for there dRebel XT?

One thing I note is that my Canon and my Power2000 batteries say 7.4 volts, and this one says 7.2. Perhaps that's how they are squeezing a little higher mAh rating?

Hi,

I bought two batteries from These guys which happened to be 1500mA :-O... and the second one is still inside its box!!!. They seem to last forever, more than it takes filling my 1Gb card up!!

I can't say for the XT's battery, but I bought a Sterlingtek battery for the Digital Rebel and have not had a problem for about a year of daily to weekly use.

I just sold it and may buy some batteries for my XT from Sterlingtek.

My understanding is that the mAhs control how long the juice will last. I have the 300D and have the Canon 7.2V, think it's 800mAh. I also have an offbrand, cheap 7.4V, 1400mAh. I was a bit worried to use it at first, but the book said the 511 or 512 battery would work in the 300D, and the 512 has the same specs as my 7.4V. So anyway, now that I've rambled, my point is that I think it should he okay, I'd go for it! :)

I've been using two off brand batteries for the past 2 years with no problem. One just died but so what, they only cost $12 each.

From here.
