I may be doing photos for a high class restaurant for use on their web site as well as menus. Has anyone else here done that? How much did you charge or how much is fair price for them but a great price for me? The photos will be the actual dmenu items as well as interior and exterior shots of the restaurant. They are not short of cash, a normal Sunday lunch only nets about $12,000 in sales. Want to be fair but also charge a professional fee.
Many thanks ahead of time. |

They way i'd want to do it is charge an hourly 'creative fee' , aka sitting fee for my time, equipment, travel, skills, etc. If i had to rent anything - small stuff i might just include as you perhaps should own it. Large something then they'd pay teh rental fee with a markup to cover my efforts in renting and returning it. I'd then give them proofs and charge by the pic on what they use and how.
As to actual dollars...depends on many things - your area, your past experience, etc.

How did they contact you? High class means you can possibly start a little higher then you think you can.

Well my son managed a couple of restaurants for me. I just got out of them a short time ago ... yaaaaaaaaa.
Well he got hired on as the general manager of this new restaurant. They hired a "joker" to put together a web page so this "joker" took his very low quality insta-matic or similar and took exterior, interior and food shots. I looked at the web page with my sone and the photos were real real bad. So my sone is working with the owners to upgrade the photos. First time my son helped get me a job .. kinda neat ... I can get used to this ;). So anyway it'll take a sell but not too hard of one to get the work.
So now to decide on how high I can go. I image at least $50-75 hour plus pics and some processing time but any help on pricing???? |
