I just got this camera less than a month ago and now I have a peice of dust stuck in the lens.
So far my photos are uneffected, but it's really annoying when I look at it.

Yoshio, send it back to the manufacturer if it is really bothering you. It will cost ya. If it's not affecting your images (probably front element dust) why bother? Most lense get some dust after a while. The "push/pull type zooms get it all the time. Rear element dust will eventually show up in your images and should be cleaned after a while.

Well...as long as it's normal I guess I don't mind as much, but do you have any idea how much it's going to cost if and when I ever decided to get it cleaned? |

Basically it shouldn't be there.
It seems that some Fuji 602's suffer from this as well. There is dust in the lens and at the ccd with some camera's. We think it can be prevented with an adapter tube + UV filter. Most people have succesfully had it removed under warranty.
Some people have taken their 6900's apart after the warranty ran out. It our case it seems to be skin dust form asian origin, it must have been there all the time.
Taking the lens apart is something you shouldn't do. Cleaning the CCD can be done with a tutorial when it is available for your camera. There is one particle just behind the first an biggest element of my camera, but it isn't in the line of the light. I wouldn't accept it if it were.

On the Fuji s602 this is a recurring problem , however an adapter and filter will not prevent dust from getting inside the lens . The most lilely cause is from the lens extending at least from the post's Ive read.. It acts like a bellows sucking in air through the tiny hole at the back of the pop up flash, along with dust particle. The lens front is sealed nothing will enter there. Your Sony may have a similar problem , Check the forums from other sites to see if this may be the case. My fuji has this problem too. It will be shipped in next week for cleaning,no charge ,as this is a warranty issue.
