I can't remember a challenge where my score essentially stayed the same overnight. I'm getting nice comments too, it seems I resonated which is what I was going for.

I agree. I am so very impressed with this challenge. I think I am scoring higher in general in this one than I ever have before.

Don't count 5.4 as average! Look at the winning scores over the challenges.

Really a fun challenge to view and re-visit. I'm going back over many because I'm so intrigued. Are any of you having a difficult time with ones where you like the individual shots, but don't like them "put together" as much as you would singly? I ran across two like that in particular.

Going up and down between 4.7 and 4.8 (sigh)

YES! There are several photos where I liked the picture/s but the concept just did not work. If the pictures were in a different competition, they would have gotten a higher score from me. For this challenge, I think it is very important that the pictures are tied together in a way that it doesn't take me several minutes to figure out what they have in common. There are also several where the change between the pictures is so minimal it makes it not interesting. Just my observations :)

This is my first challenge, as well :)

For sure Judy. There are a couple that i wish had been saved for the free study instead of crammed into the limitted space allowed by the triptych. But the ones that are giving me a time moreso are the ones that are clearly one picture with no real reason to spit into 3 (other than the dreaded DNMC). I'm still pondering what i will do with them, because for some, its not working so much.

But like i said before, overall WOW! This will be one high scoring finish!!

I think that might be the problem with my entry, I only used one photo.

11/14/2005 01:12:37 PM · #93
mine is running from the low to high 5.5s.

mesmeraj and jutilda:
I have to agree with both of you. There were a couple of them that made me scratch my head, made me wonder why the photogapher didnt ask for help.
I want to thank you both for the lovely comments you left on my triptych

I also found the triptychs with panels all the same size more appealing.

Sounds exactly like my entry. :)

This was my first tryp. I don't like the border I gave it but it did lend itself perfectly to the division. I agree that there are some in the challenge that didn't work well in three's but that would be a given. I found that I shot one image with thirds completely in mind and it still didn't work. The overall execution and border selection have to be just right...there's so much to consider.

This challenge alone is almost worth becoming a member for; just so I can vote. There are so many images here that I love.
