Hi all,
I just got a Canon Pixma IP8500 photo printer from my guy as an early birthday present! (Hooray, I can print a portfolio now!) What experiences have you had with this printer, and what papers do you like for what kind of print jobs?

look up red river paper company. I have used them often on my 19900 and the paper is the best I have found yet.

Never tried the Red River but I really like the Ilford Gallerie Smooth Pearl with my i9900. It's an E-surface type paper with a nice semi-gloss pebbled texture. I hate glossy surfaces in papers.

thanks, parrothead, for the red river tip! i think i'm going to take advantage of their "try before you buy" packets.

orussell, that ilford paper sounds beautiful, too, with its pebble texture...

oh the fun i get to have experimenting with papers and photos!

thanks,
jeannel

I've used the Ilford paper a lot in my Canon i960. Ilford's site has printer profiles. The output looks great!

I get mine (paper) from Camera Canada //www.cameracanada.com They seem to have the best price around for the stuff. Where do you get yours?
