Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II

Both my istock and shutterstock account crossed over $1000 dollars today! Wooohooo!

In other news i spent some time looking at new lenses to get :-)
Currently im eyeing a 100mm macro and the 70-200L f/4 to complete my little collection.

edit - and i noticed today that my average score recieved on dpc is now at 6+, thought it should return back under after this weeks challenges... speaking of dead ends... :-)

$1000 on Shutterstock? Awesome! 5000 downloads can't be wrong... :o) I just signed up with them yesterday, and put up my first 10 shots for review. I can't WAIT to hear back! I'm really hoping I can make a little extra part-time $$ from shooting stock. That way, I can justify better camera equipment (read--"more toys"). On another note, I really like your work nico. I'm not surprised you are doing well in stock photography, as you are certainly good at what you put up here! Also, as a side question, what type of shots sell the best on Shutterstock? I've seen their top downloads and such, I'm just curious as to what are YOUR best sellers. And how many pictures do you have listed? Thanks in advance for advice for the new guy...

70-200L F4 is a very nice lens for its price and 100mm macro I am still waiting to buy.

May I ask if you can link to your galleries at both sites? Curious to see some of the images you have loaded up there.

I have about 385 up on istock and 398 up on shutterstock, i shoot a wide variety of things and also do some digital art stuff.

I went to istockalypse Boston sometime in September and that was a really great experience. I had never worked with models before so it was really eye opening and insightful, and working alongside other photographers was just awesome.

Agreed, but if you sort Nico's gallery by most popular, most of his top shots would NOT require a model release. And Nico, since it looks like a lot of your people shots are shots of yourself, I guess getting a model release signed for those isn't such a big deal (obviously!).

$.20 per download. I'm impressed that Nico has made $1000 off of only 398 photos. I'm quickly learning that success in stock photography is a combination of quality and quantity. Makes total sense.

Congrats! Way to go!
I made $375.24 at SS with my 216 pics shot with my A70.
I didn't subscribe anything since may. Part of it are referals.
Here's my gallery
Add $110 from dreamstime and $55 from bigstock and my wife was happy when I bought my 350D
Not to mention me!

I just wish a have more time for this...

that's interesting. I had put up some images on Shutterstock sometime back ( about 15images only) and I wasn't even checking the status as I wasn't much interested, but I checked it yesterday and found that the last few downloads earned me 0.23 and not 0.20 so I thought may be they increased their payout.
