I have 2 large softboxes that I bought for ABs. I have 2 AB B400 and 2 B800s. I wanted to you color gels in the softboxes to warm or cool the light but have no way to do this with the way the softboxes attach. I have the gels that are 18x18in. I was thinking of creating a frame that would attach to the softbox frame but I'm not sure what to make that out of. I'm worried that the gels or frame material could catch on fire.
Anyone figured out a way to do this?

Yeah, you don't need anything but tape to attach the gels. I usually just open the diffuser panel, open the baffle and then tape the gels right over the light, close it all up and start shooting. If you bought high temp gels (and that's what AB sells on their website) then the gel can rest on the modeling bulb with no concern for melting. I use either scotch tape and tape the gel right onto the inside of the softbox (this has never hurt my PhotoFlex softboxes or I use duct tape and tape the gel around the flash head and onto the metal ring mount that the softbox mounts onto.
I tape the gel a little on all 4 sides and if there are gaps I may tape those down, too.
That's how I got color in the background on shots like
