I am trying to write a crtitique on an image. I complete writing, press post, the screen refreshes, the critique is not applied and the text box is empty. What is happening to my critique? This has happened twice now. I am still on the same image and will write it a third time, but what if the same thing happens?

Has this ever happened before?

Copy your critique, exit your browser and relaunch it. It might be a funky cache problem or something.

What happens to my assigned image then?

NOTE: I don't use cache and keep no history at all.

Have you voted on it already? I found out the hard way that if you don't vote when you submit your critique (even if you have to enter the same value), it won't accept the comment. I went through about 20 comments before I figured that one out :-(

Critiques are written after voting ends. It is not the same as leaving a comment during voting.

I think once you're assigned an image, it's yours until you've submitted your critique. Unless there's some nasty bug in the CC system, give it a try. You have nothing to lose except your critique, but if you copy before you exit/relaunch, you can always go to the image and post it anyway.

Finally, after four tries the critique went through.

I did copy it the third time, it did the same thing the third time, the fourth was the charm.

This is where I wade in and point out that if you (anyone) are gonna go to the trouble of doing a full-blown critique, you really ought to launch your word processor and work with that; it only takes a moment to copy/psate, and it allows you to spell-check, proofread, all that good stuff... And if something goes wrong in posting, you have the saved version to go back to...

I get that a lot...ever hear of Caleb Carr? He wrote a book called The Alienist - excellent read. That is where took the name from.

Hell of a book, that... For those who aren't aware, "alienist" is/was a 19th term for "psychiatrist"; read into that whatever you wish :-)

All books in the series were excellent!

I read that book as well, having heard an author interview on NPR (or some such). Excellent work!

I'm spoiled because Safari does such a wonderful job of spelling-check on the fly. I almost never use an external editor and some day I'm gonna pay for it when a web server burps!

PS: I use Internet Exploiter for Windows at work, so if I have speling erors in my posts, you know I'm goofing off in my oriface.
