I just got the sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 APO Super Macro II, and for some reason it's not working. This is what I ordered exactly - //www.digitalfotoclub.com/products3/744523118.asp
Is this the wrong lens? Ugh.. I so don't want to deal with a return, but it doesn't seem to work, unless I'm doing something wrong. It said it would work with Canon EOS, so I assumed it would be fine.. anyone know what's up? |

What do you mean by "not working"? It's not focussing? You can't control aperture? It locks up your camera?

Sorry! It's not letting me control the aperture at all, it has it set at 00 and it won't change. Also, it won't focus or take a shot. I can still change the iso and shutter speed. |

Some Sigma and other off-market lenses have to be re-chipped to work with newer model DSLR's. You might have to call Sigma about that.

Thanks! I guess I'll call Sigma tomorrow morning and get it sent out. How long does the process normally take? I really need a zoom lens by November 30th and if that's not possible, I might just return it and get a different lens instead. |

Depending on how far you are from the nearest Sigma service centre I'd guess anywhere from between 10 days to a couple of weeks...
