Okay, is this a better photo choice? Please feel free to look through my people gallery on pbase and see if there are any of those that might work better than the portrait I used. The one I used is my daughter, so I didn't have to be concerned with model release or anything like that, plus I just thought it made a nice shot for the card. It is VERY hard to choose the right photo! I don't want to limit myself to wedding photography. I do intend to develop a card specifically for maternity portraits, as that is an area I'd like to do more "specialty" type work in. Since it's a newer concept, I think it would be helpful to have one of those portraits actually on that card.
But right now I'm looking for an everyday use type of card.
EDIT...oops, forgot to link the card...

Di...I like this last one. Left you a comment.
MATT...or others using photoreflect -
Is there a way to change the background color for display of the photos in an event or catalog? It seems they all come up with a white background, which is not my preference. |

Honest to god, I would use "Endangered Species" as the background for your card - put the name and logo on it somewhere (name above the blue, contact info to the right of the booth?)
That would rock! I'll do up a demo if you want to see my idea.

Love the picture you're using - interesting and beautiful without being off-putting. I think the font needs some help. It looks too plain - arial or Times or something. Maybe try a fun font like Verdana or Garamond or even something crazier. :)

I'm not sure I understand your question:
//www.photoreflect.com/scripts/prsm.dll?eventorder?photo=0BMH001F000001&start=0&album=0&adjust=-1 This photo has a gray background.
//www.photoreflect.com/scripts/prsm.dll?storefront?b=1&c=0BMH As does this event?
Maybe it's based on which storefront you choose. If you go into the software, click "storefront" then "customize" you can change the colors all around and see which you like best.

My question was in regard to the thumbnails that are displayed when you click on an event. All I saw were white, however it seems there are some other options. |

Cool yeah - mine is gray so maybe it's just the storefront you choose. I'll take a look at your store in a sec.

I tried different store fronts and it remained white. After a few more, it was gray...even going back to some that had originally shown it as white. It's gray now, which is what I want, but I have no idea how it got changed! It's the same storefront I started out with, but now the thumbnails show against gray. :P

Yet one more possibility. I like the idea of a dove in my logo. It conveys part of my artist's perspective, which is Christianity. I think it's subtle enough to not offend anyone, but for those looking for a Christian photographer, the meaning is pretty clear.
mavrik, I like my photo "Endangered Species" alot, however it doesn't really represent well the type of photography I normally do for pay.
ARggg!!! Now my Photoreflect thumbnails are back to being on a white background! I didn't change anything! It's late. Time for bed.

Where are you going to get your cards printed?

I don't know yet. I looked just a bit online, but haven't found one yet that doesn't use premade templates. Any ideas? |

I use vistaprints, overnight prints and GotPrint and all allow you to print your own designs. All 3 also do printing on both sides of the card so maybe what you want to do is design one side with pictures like you want to take and design the back using your "Endangered Species" for the contact info side. :)
I LOVE that picture - I wish I'd taken it. If I had, it would be on my business card.
