Hurro..

In my comments on my transparent entry I said I'd post some setup/outtake photos. Just in case someone looks for them, here they are:

This was the test photo for the idea, taken on the floor at home.. It's better than the actual entry in a couple of ways. the water is crystal clear, and the fish is really bright. This is with no spot editing, just shifting down the white point and scale/sharpen for web.

Also, the background white paper was smooth as a baby's rear..

Skipping forward a day I visited a friend who has an aquarium maintenance business and borrowed a large parrot fish. The glass BTW is quite large, this wasn't a small parrot fish! :-).

This was the original unedited shot:

You can see the fish is quite light, and the background has 'stripes' because the roll of 36" wide white paper got squashed in the car on the way over.. bummer.

Anyway, much editing later, the final entry was borne, which looks quite neat, but because I did so much editing on it the reflections on the glass are overpowering, although only one commenter noticed.

Lemme know if you wanna know anyfing else. :-).

Cheers, Me.

That's a trick question right?

As per the setup shot... Two brollies with flashes and a light tent.

The minute detail is 2x Vivitar 285's with difusers fired into 2x 36" brollies. Home made light tent with neutral white polyester cover. (Nylon&cotton give a colour cast under flash, polyester is neutral).

Cheers, Me.

Fankyou.. :-). I've been using it to do object stock, and some product photos for a customer. It's made of PVC plumbing, as per the tinker tubes info..
