Just when you thought you'd seen it all, we had a UPS guy climb up a fire escape and leave the package on the roof in a thunderstorm. Hey Spyder, pretend you're leaving the house for five minutes and hide in the bushes. They LOVE to show up during the few minutes you're not there. ;-) |

At this point I am willing to try anything. Not that it matters much now. The kids will be home from school in a couple of minutes and there will be no photo safari for me.

Guess who just showed up? 12 hours and 27 minutes after it was "out for delivery" from 6 miles away.

That's what happened to me last week. Listed as "out for delivery" at 4:30am. Showed up around 6pm.
Of course, that was better than the time before that when it never showed up and I called inquiring. The "customer service" lady told me that the information I could see what "just for customers" and she had better information which was that the package was actually still three states away, not out for delivery. |

An ancient Minolta RD-175, made in 1996. It has pretty low resolution by today's standards but features a 3ccd sensor system. It will also use most Minolta Maxxum AF lenses which are very low cost at present. This camera will be a complement to the old Kodak/Nikon DCS-460 (acquired last year) made about the same time as the Minolta. Both these cameras were very pricy in their prime but are dirt cheap now!

just for future reference
I'm an overnight courier for TNT
and I start scanning my freight out for delivery at 5.30am but it normally takes over an hour to scan all the freight then another 30 mins to finalize the loading and leave the depot at 7am
I then start deliverys about 7.30 to the business customers that I know are open early then get to the private houses about 9.30 (most people hate being woken up before 8am)
you will find that the courier has skipped past your place as he would have thought it was to early to wake you and had planed to deliver it on his way back to the base
also note that we are payed by the parcel so we do our runs the quickest way we can with the least miles to maximize the money we make (as all good business people should)
