Hello everyone, first thanks for your time and viewing my thread, i am new to digital photography and would really like to start taking better pictures so i figured i would come to the pro's and see what i could get out of it. Go ahead and let me know what i could to do improve or if i should just quit now lol. Thanks alot everyone.

You've got a nice start for a rookie. You are picking a variety of perspectives to shoot from, low, close, centered, above. You've taken some bland subjects and worked on making them interesting. You're making many of the early errors including tilted horizons, blown out hightlights, centered compositions (which don't add to the interest)and some flat tonal ranges (faily to go from white to black). Even so, you've got a nice start.

I suggest you get a membership, build your portfolio and ask for comments on individual images in the forums. Returning comment for comment encourages comments. Another great avenue for feedback is entering challenges. The votes themselves indicate the appeal(or lack of appeal)and the comments are usually helpful. Reading the comments on other images is helpful as we all make the same kinds of mistakes - I try and learn from their attempts too.
