Hello,
No editing done...came directly from D70.
I took about 15 shots of this guy in sunshine but could not seem to get him in focus. Maybe I'm being too picky. Please rate my focus and shot in general. The "eye" looked tack sharp through the viewfinder. Where does "focus" look to you?
I'll trade comments!
Thank You.
Taken with D70 60mm 2.8 macro Nikon lens.

Plane of sharpness seems to run right through the joint between thorax and abdomen. There does not seem to be a sharpness issue here, given that you have used no USM on this and we typically lose sharpness on downsizing.

So given that this shot was not "setup" and more of a quick shot not using tripod, you'd say this is an ok macro shot? Like I said, it is a direct copy..only downsized from the D70.
Thanks

Here's a quick photoshopping; brightness +26. contrast +21, USM added:
So yeah, I think you did fine, especially for hand-holding. Keep in mind that perceived sharpness is essentially a contrast issue, beyond the obvious need to have something in focus to begin with.
