I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find this or if it's possible to use DPC Prints for this purpose?
I'm looking for an online printing store where I can charge my own prices above the printing cost. I can't pay a subscription fee and the prints would be family oriented or let's just say something no one would want but the client. It would be nice if I could set up a sub account with DPC Prints that I could give my client a password and they could order their own prints but not sure if that's a possibility anyways.
Know of anyplace like that???

Thanks!
Have you had any dealings with them yourself?
Is the print quality good? |

I believe SmugMug provides this service, but there's a fee.
It is a feature likely to appear in the update of DPC Prints, if it ever happens.
Lots of on-line print sites let you password-protect albums (so only people you invite can go there), but you usually can't set your own prices there -- they are generally meant for family/friends and not as a commercial storefront. |

yup- that's what I keep coming across,
I don't get it. It seems such a simple thing to do that would increase their sales! They are already int he business of sending out prints would it be that much harder to send out a check to a photographer?
Oh well- I just hate running around picking up print orders- my lab isn't exactly close!
Thanks for your help tho! :0) |

If you are making money off of them they are going to make it off you. Really sucks but it is a part of the business world. :-)

I've ordered prints from winkflash. They are very good and very fairly priced ($1.99 per 8x10) but I have not used the album feature yet; it's pretty recent. A friend at work uses Yahoo so her family across the country can get prints of her kids. She likes the service but I don't know if you can set prices.
Maybe shutterfly has what you need. A lot of sports/event photographers use it.

I just don't think shutterfly has quality prints- they're real flimsy... |

What is missing from your workflow/summary -- and the reason these places don't offer those services, is billing (and refunds).
If you can bill the people yourself, then post your own gallery somewhere (still plenty of free/cheap hosting sites), have them look at the photos and order the ones they want from you. Then, YOU place the order at whatever printing site you like, and have the prints mailed directly to the client. |

Just in case anyone was interested, mavrik refered me to PhotoReflect.
I've just started using it, so don't know much but so far it looks good!
Now to check out the prints... :0) |

DotPhoto.com and Printroom.com are both great for online printing.
