ok I knew as I went into this that the focus was'nt sharp enough but I was missing the update button!!!
So any suggestions on how I could sharpen it up?? I tried usm at the time but it went nasty on her eyebrows and eyelashes.
Any help is always appreciated.

I'm not sure if it would be beneficial on this image, but you can always selectively apply USM... Just create a duplicate layer of the main image, apply USM to the whole thing, and then erase what you don't want to be sharpened... You can also play with the opacity and blending modes...

joynim-

After looking at this image, I took the liberty of taking a crack at it.

While a lot of people on this site disagree with me (if you don't believe me, feel free to check out my challenge entries... =] ), I don't think that every image always has to be super sharp.

This is what I came up with...

I had 4 layers total. The base original that I didn't touch, a duplicate layer on top of that the i applied severeal round of light gaussian blur to (opacity 30%, blending normal), another copy of the base image with a vignetting mask and a fairly severe gaussian blur (opacity 100%, blending mode multiply), and finally a slight curves adj. layer. mostly to bump contrast... I hope this helps!

Glad you like 'em. The last one is actually a BW then added color via the color balance. But not too much :)
