I got this email earlier today but I don't know what to think of it. They're not asking for any money but it still feels a little suspect. Any opinions? (I was wondering who was looking at my site today. I've gotten 150 hits today and that's way above average!)

Hello,
We are a newly forming Digital Photographer brokerage service. To simplify, we work as a middle-man between photographers, and their market, finding them potential customers and arranged special pricing if available.
We save both the photographer, and the consumer the headache of finding a reliable and specific photographer, while bringing the photographer business. Maybe you use discounts on referrals, so you would be familiar with this.
Right now, we are trying to establish a contact base with photographers, and iron out the wrinkles of starting a new business. I'd love to have you onboard for this venture! I've looked personally at your images on your website, and think that your style is preferrable to numerous leads that I have.
If you are interested in this, and perhaps arranging a bit of a discount for customers brought to you by us, please, let me know. If you have any questions, definately feel free to contact me. | I am personally sus about places that have no phone numbers or addresses. A legit business would be falling over themselves giving you contact options (particularly pimps.....er....um....agents). |

Sorry, there was other information there but I chose not to include it in this post just in case they are legitimate. The letter was closed with a name, phone number and business title.
My only problem was with their email....it's a gmail account. They don't have a site of their own but with a starter business that may not be the first thing to go up before you have any photographer contacts. I don't know.

Is there a contract involved? Or is it a case-by-case basis? If they can get you more business than you can get yourself, they might be worth giving a shot. A gmail account isn't that surprising, but they should register a domian soon and use email on it.
If you're interested, the best thing you can do is ask for references. |

The english is not the best. American company or what?
Sure, they don't have a website, email or apparently from the text, a phone.
they may be a start up, but they have yet to start anything. Before one goes seeking clients, you need to look and act like a business. This lack or preparedness would make me leary of dealing with them - they apparently are lacking basic business sense, planning and probably funding.
I may not have generated dollar one yet, but I have a website, email, phone number, address and even matching business cards.
Ask them for a list of their happy client photographers - sounds like they don't hsve any. If it costs you nothing, then sure try it, you got nothing to lose.
