I got a couple of good comments from my Light on White Result thread, and there are some very good comments in the Disappointed thread. I think most people on this site would appreciate this type of in-depth comment on their entry. I am not knowledgeable or experienced enough to leave this kind of comment yet, but find them most helpful. I do find even general comments listing what is "good" or "wrong" helpful, but the "what to do different" or "how to do it better" are the ones I learn the most from. I know there are too many entries to go in depth on each, but us newcomers to photography need it!
Perhaps if many of the same problems are observed during judging a challenge, a person could start a thread dealing with how to correct it without mentioning specific entries. Or better--after the challenge use the actual entries (with permission) in a mini-tutorial type thread. |

what happend is that, people werent able to take the constructive critisim on comments that they recieved and would publicly announce it. so it scared alot of people away from leaving comments in fear of it coming back on them.
