Hi, I was wondering if a DPC PS veteran can show me a simple way of getting rid of the blue wire using PS 7. I'm still struggling with layers and I'm trying to use PS more to do simple enhancements of my photos and this is one recent attempt. So some feedback on the post-processing would be much appreciated too.

Thanks a bunch. : )

Use the clone command Eileen. Use a soft brush at around 20 pixels. Oh zoom in tight too :)

Ctrl+S

Hey, thanks a lot Rikki and Evan for the quick tips. And Evan, your quick process is just the thing I was trying to get at. Now if I only could figure out what "clone" and "healing brush" is in French. :(

Anyways, still at work and probably won't have time to meddle now but will post up the result when I succeed. Thanks again guys!

If it's any help - the clone tool is 5 down from the top of the toolbar, on the left side. It has a picture of a rubber stamp. The healing brush tool is 4 down from the top, on the left, with a picture of a bandage.

If you need anymore help just let me know. :)

Clone = In PS it's Ctrl+S
Heal = In PS it's Ctrl+J

I've done it!!! Small achievement but most satisfying. Actually I had fooled around with the very tools mentioned but the trick was really to zoom in tight to apply the correction. So thanks Rikki for that tip and thanks to Evan, Justin and Jutilda for confirming which tools to use.

My only problem is I've tried replacing the file on my portfolio but the old one still shows. I think I've replaced files before and never had this problem. Am I missing something?

Well, I just came in to look and the old file is gone, the new one has replaced it. Which I consider to be a mistake, 'cuz now nobody has a clue what the danged wire was, and how you fixed it. I prefer to leave the originals intact and post the altered versions alongside them.

Regardless, look slike you learned a trick today :-)

Oops, I'll re-post the "bambi_with blue wire" then and keep that in mind. Except I'm totally confused 'coz it still shows the old picture for me. Maybe it's my PC ...

And if it's not too much to ask, perhaps a comment on how I can make this shot look more interesting?
