Good job Scott!

Nice to see i've moved up in the rankings :-)

Personally I think a 3-2-1 points system would be fairer than a 4-2-1.

I would have to disagree with bear about scoring being more important that placement. You have lower and higher scoring challenges, so the fact that a blue scores a 6.5 in a really hard challenge doesnt make it worth less than a yellow that scores 7.2 in a better scoring challenge. The fact remains that a blue means that was the best shot in that challenge, a red is the second best and a yellow is the third best. And at the end of the day its about having fun, learning and improving. (And tallying up the spoils of war)

edit - messed up on the colors :-)

Does it really matter? Why not post something like "Who has improved the most in 2005?"

Sheesh- I'd really like to enter more.

One lonely ribbon, earned back in may. Given that I have exams for the next four weeks, and hence won't be turning around my 'no time to take pitchers' issues until about december that leaves me ...oooh... 4 weeks to win eight ribbons :P.

You've gotta be at least slightly amazed at heidas entries to ribbons ratio the past few months.

2005 DPChallenge Ribbon Run - update 10/31

With only 24 +/- Challenges and 72 +/- ribbons to go heida increases here ribbon lead with her fourth Red Ribbon of the year. She now totals 9 ribbons averaging 7.2160 per ribbon, a two ribbon lead over 2nd and 3rd place. But I would not count out anyone in the top 5. Joey Lawrence is not ready to give up as he pulled in the blue for a total of 6 ribbons averaging 7.1082 per ribbon. The big gain this week was gaurawa with the yellow increasing his ribbon total to four. He jumped eleven places with his win from 21st to 10th place.

See complete list below

I see you've changed the scoring from 4-2-1 to "ribbon average", so I guess it wasn't that hard :-)

Regarding Nico's comment earlier,

I would have to disagree with bear about scoring being more important that placement. You have lower and higher scoring challenges, so the fact that a blue scores a 6.5 in a really hard challenge doesnt make it worth less than a yellow that scores 7.2 in a better scoring challenge. The fact remains that a blue means that was the best shot in that challenge, a red is the second best and a yellow is the third best. And at the end of the day its about having fun, learning and improving. (And tallying up the spoils of war)

it's worth noting that on the 4-2-1 system Joey would have 19 points over Nico's 15 points and their order in the standings would be inverted. In the 4-ribbon group, cutter would switch places with e301, and goodman would move ahead of elsapo and guarawa...

Which is "more accurate" or "better"? It's certainly open to debate, but I still like the looks of ranking FIRST by total ribbons then sorting TIES by ribbon average.

By the end of the year, I should be on the bottom of that list.

By the end of the year I still won't be on the list at all, so :-P

I'm still waiting for 2007 to roll around. ;-)

It takes a little while to put in the averages but it was the best system to break the ties and I believe the fair way to go. Once I get them all in then it will be easy. Thanks for the idea bear.

Great job Scott! you rock, the rankings look awesome.

Hey Bear, i have 17 on the 4-2-1 points system...
3x4 + 2x2 + 1x1 = 12 + 4 + 1 = 17 :-p

I like this new system with the ribbon avg being the tie breaker, I just need to win a few more ribbons and maybe steal heida, librodo and arnits cameras till the end of the year, maybe Joey's as well while I am at it, then I have a decent shot at the number 1 spot :-)

Come on Slippy, you can always find "creative" ways of getting on lists. ;-P
