I recently bought a B800 and I'm trying to use my SB-600 as a background light to blow out a white background. I set the Nikon D70 to commander mode and manual and then I set the power level. Ok here's the weird thing...when my alien bees are turned off the sb-600 will fire. When the alien bees are on they won't fire. I'm thinking it has to do something with the slave trigger on the alien bees interfering with the sb-600. In manual mode there isn't supposed to be a pre-flash so it won't trigger the strobe too early...I've tried by setting my flash on manual when mounted to my camera. But it just seems to not work when it's wireless. I swear it was working before but it just started doing this about half an hour ago. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks.

Aren't your fhash set to red eye reduction. In this mode it will fire a curtain of pre flashes. It's just a guess.

Have you tryed to put the sb600 closer to you than the alienbees?

Just a thought to give you a bump because I'm also interested in buying two alienbees.
