Very nice! Great interesting detail in the foreground rocks drawing you into the water/horizon and sky. Actually, I think the vignetting helps direct your attention to the center of the image, and since the sky/water is lighter than the rock, that helps even more draw you in deeper.

Congratulations on the recognition!

Thanks everyone.

Yes, I entered three of my Acadia pics, and two made it to the first page ("honorable"). But you have to be first to get into the "winners" circle so to speak (a final competition at the end of the year, and shown in the list of winners (outside of the gallery itself).

I was second place the first one I entered in Dec 2004, but that doesn't get you "further", and as far as I can tell doesn't count as a win (it doesn't show up in my statistics). Note that it's listed as "eligible":

They have a weird system anyway, because when you win, it's not based on your average score, it's based on your total. So I don't enter often--but this one seemed like such a perfect fit to my Acadia shots!

Go Neil! Looks like you're getting a reputation all over the internet. ;-)

Thanks for all the well wishes!

And congratulations to Dirk (SCI 009) as well for winning the landscape challenge (missed that one!):

There are a some other DPCers I have seen win there, including John Setzler, Laurie Black, Sami Heikkinen, and I am sure others that I just haven't seen or connected! Probably Robert Mann there somewhere, since he gets my award for the "winning-est photographer I've seen on the Internet!)

Here's a two month winners gallery--you might recognize someone else...

Thanks again!

Congrats Neil. Seeing you pull off a double header like that is very impressive. But then again, those of us who have followed your work here at dpc know you are very capable photographer.
