I played with one in my camera store last week. Feels like a slightly bigger 20D, and looks like one too.

Robt.

Apparently 24 people on this site already own one.

Just got mine yesterday :o)

*rolls eyes and laughs like a crazy person* Like this: Muahahahahaha...

Sorry, just a bit excited, normally I don´t like to brag like this :)

Oh and no I don´t really feel qualified to comment on it except I liked how it felt in my hands, the biggest difference is of course the HUGE viewfinder but other than that I have little as none experience with it...

Had a long fondle with one in the shop a wee while ago.

I'll second Bear's comments..

If you saw it across the room you'd think it was a 20D.

Took some samples with my 17-40 on it.. Disappointed it uses the same focus system as the 20D, put it back on the shelf.

Not worth the asking price for me, but if you want FF it's a great price! I want a better focusing system, which means a 1D is in my dim future.

Cheers, Me.

So what is so different in the focusing system that over-rides the other benefits?

A 1 series camera just feels better. Weather sealed. Much better autofocus. Heavier. Shutter last longer. In general just built much better. Of coarse, not everybody NEEDS a 1 series camera. Just depends on what you shoot.
