Anybody else suffered with the STIFF zoom ring problem, I called Tokina and they said to send it in they will fix it for free and that they are aware there is an issue about it... I was gobsmacked, I love the lens and dont wanna be without it for a whole month...

Is it a common thing really?... anyone?

i have had my lens for a few weeks now and have not encoutered this problem (hopefully never will)... sounds like maybe you got something small stuck in the turning ring mechanism thingy. Good luck with the repairs.

Thanx Nico .. must be my bad luck, I was surprised when they said it wasn't unheard of before and that it would be fixed for free, seems they have a good customer support going on just that I KNOW Im gonna miss this baby for 1 whole month *runs off sobbing*

I dont have the 12-24mm but I have the 24-200mm and have had to send it back to Tokina. I noticed a problem when I was fitting the lens hood - the front element was turning! Doh. Well it will focus at the wide end but at the far end of the zoom it will not focus in manual or auto. I have had the camera since January this year and up until this was very happy with it

The zoom ring was very stiff when I first got it, but as you use the lens, it loosens up.
