Hello DPC group. This afternoon while playing in the backyard with my camera I took a few pics just playing around. I have had my new dSLR about a month now and am trying to learn what it takes to take good pics and then edit them to make them look what I want them too. So I snapped this pic and then played with the editing. Can you tell me what you think of these. And what edits you would do to make it better. My intent was to play with shutter speed and manual focus to get a still shot of moving water. I know its all been done, but not by me so bare with me. :-) Thanks for any comments and suggestions you can give me.

Yep it has been done, but when you are learning and it's the first time for you its still exciting!
I like the regular colored one best. The setup isn't particularly interesting, but its a great start

Left you a comment on the color one. I haven't had my dSLR very long either, and haven't done any moving water shots, so I can't tell you much technically. I still have a LOT to learn, and find the challenges often make me get my book out to figure out how to use different camera settings, but it is a fun process! |

Thanks for the comments so far. I personally like it in B/W. Its the look I was going for after the fact. I know its not original, or a perfect setup, but I am learning, and yeah its alot of fun to see a little something in my photos that I see in the great pics that are here on DPC. I have alot to learn, the dSLR is a huge step up from my Nikon coolpix 4500 and I am trying to use Photoshop and Elements 4.0 and with all my learning curves I feel dizzy!!!! Thanks and anymore suggestions are welcome.
