So I'm doing the whole eBay thing, just got a nice 35-80 USM, but I'm thinking that there must be other places out there where I can get used or new lenses and accessories for reasonable (or cheap!) prices.

I know about B&H and its counterparts, but I'm really more interested in dealing with individuals or auctions.

So where do you all shop for this sorta thing? What's good out there?

Keh.com
Craigslist.org (just click on your area) - Kind of like a hometown/city ebay site where you can find services and stuff for sale.

I;'ve bought off ebay, new and used. no probs. even called a few of the shops that sell there to see what they have, some have used stuff.
fredmiranda - got a flash there. i don't look there often enough...I'll go do that right now!

try local photo stores, pawn shops. I missed an L lens this past winter. I was there before i bought my Rebel, saw the L glass and ignored it. I went back after i got my rebel and it was gone. DO NOT expect ANY expertise though, at leat not at my local 'cash for jewelery' store.

Thanks for the input, you guys rock!

And bear, if there was a likely dumpster nearby, I would be there... :) Whatever it takes.

I had good experience with ebay. Since the begining of this year, I bought 4 Nikkor lenses: 50mm f/1.8, 70-210mm f/4, 70-210mm f/4-5.6 and 80-200 f/2.8.
Also, I bought a Canon 500D closeup filter.
I just sold both 70-210mm and a 28mm.

I was very scared first to bought on EBay, but I am more confident now. There always a change to get ripped off though. You just have to remember, if it looks to good to be true, it most certainly isn't.
