I chose to enter 'delicate' instead of LOW, but how would you have rated this?

Just curious...

I'd say it is a little inconsiderate asking for comments on a challenge which is still being voted on. Everyone claims they don't get enough comments on challenge entries, maybe this kind of thread is a contributing factor.

Just a thought.

I don't agree. If people are voting, they are voting. If they are reading the forums, they are doing that. I shot two pictures and had to choose one to enter and am curious about my other one. If I don't post this now, I'll forget and people won't be interested. Right now they're able to compare it with other similar pictures. I'm not trying to divert people from voting on the Light on White challenge.

This has gone the rounds before, and trust me, more people agree with Falc than with you.

I tend to agree with you, but just don't bother with this until after the challenge is over, it really is a sore subject.

OK, I understand the sentiments and assumptions here, but think that things have changed since we have two exclusive non-member challenges. It should be possible to have a thread discussing the pictures you didn't get to submit, what else is this website for than to learn from one another? I never felt the need to post outtakes during challenges I submitted in, but think this is different. Just my opinion.

How about now then ;-)

Here was my outake.

I recently had time to go back and have a go at this again. Found this thread instead of starting a new one.

Outtakes:

entry:

I think either of these are a whole ton better, the dried flower had a dark spot in the upper left which I still think is distracting.

My question is, did I learn from failure, or should I keep trying? And of course, which you think is better of the two new ones.

Here is my outake

The text would not have appeared in the challenge.

See my challenge entries for the "loser" I entered instead!

Wave .. both photos seem to have something in the corners .. the pink one has it on the bottom right. Maybe adjust the lighting or try a different angle to get the white background white without that noise. I like the dried flower because it is lighter than the pink yard.

Ken, I definitely agree that this is a much better picture than your entry. For one, it's in focus, but the placement of the elements is pretty good.

Yeah...I tried to rewind but it didn't work out! The blurry one is still showing in the results!
