I think having one of your photos on your card is a good way when people are fumbling through all their cards for yours to stand out and remind them of what your business is. Lets face it, as we get older small text becomes challenging to read if thats all there is on a card.

Just my two cents.

Hey thanks! Having an image is true for photographers :) Now since gaurawa is a freelancer, then i would most definitely add one of his photos on my card. what would make your potential clients say "Cool" and think to themselves "I have to remember this guy".

Plain text version

LOL! It does look like you're a peeping tom :) You have lots of beautiful images in your portfolio. I'm sure you won't have a hard time looking for a suitable phot for your card.

If you're set in using serif fonts for your name or buniness name, at least try using sans serif for the other items (address, numbers, etc.)

I'm a fan of the photo cards as well. I don't have a pic of it here at work, but this is what I used for mine:

I put my name in the upper right and my info along the bottom all in white. I used a good looking font called Papyrus that has sort of an artsy look to it. Looks really nice printed, although it might be too "artsy" for some guys so maybe I'll use a car or something more "manly" in another card.

This might be a good way to do it. On one side, you have your name and all info and the flip side would just be an image. No text. Just a plain image with nothing to distract your potential clients attention. The bolder and more unique, the better of you are :)

I ordered my cards last week...I'm still waiting for them to come in.

I made mine really funny. I'll probably just hand them out to random college kids...

Eventually I'll get some serious ones made, but for now, it's all good.

This is what we came up with (we being many people here and at the Fool) for my new start.

This is just one of my pet hates but something I think is important - not directly related to the format of the cards.

If you are trying to show some professionalism, don't use a third-party email address (earthlink, yahoo, gmail e.t.c.) - get a real name. It might be my background in IT but I can spot the weekend worriers pretty easily just from the email address.

There are some VERY cheap options out there for reserving a domain name - even if there is no web-site presence; although I would suggest having something - even a redirect to a pbase account or something. A very basic setup would just forward all emails to your yahoo or whatever when sent to anything@yourdomain.whatever.whatever.
