I'm so excited about my latest challenge entry (Reflections). It was so much fun to do. I know it's a bit of a cliche and I was right as there were other eye photos in the challenge.

The fun part about this was the fact that I had taken a shot the day before but when I edited the image, I realized that it was only basic editing. So back to the drawing board and shooting again.

Anyway, thanks for the comments and the favorite :)

Thanks for the comment Robert and Suemack.

As far as the noise was concerned, there was a bit including some artifacting that really bothered me when I saw the initial jpeg file. I tried using my freebee version of NI but it didn't really do it any good as it saves in lousy jpeg formats. So i shelled out the $30 or so for the program and used it and what a nice surprise it was in the end. The painting was the perfect background as her eyes are greenish and it made a nice complimentary color with the background.

I will shoot this image again someday but this time without the nose so the image doesn't seem unbalanced.

I'm seeing that I'm trying a bit more different shots than my regular architecture imagery. Thanks to the folks here. :) |

This was a nice shot. I gave it a 9. Great colors and background but the nose is a bit distracting. Great job!

Here's an outtake that I did. Was this better than the entry or vice versa?

Oh I like the one you submitted the best. The are both very nice, but I think you made the right choice.

Of course I like the "blue". That's why there are 10s and 1s scored by different people on the same entry!

I think the second, only because there were at least 3 other entries with an obvious computer/TV reflection. I also like that she is looking up instead.

So, are her eyes green or blue? (reminds me of "Your Song", Elton John)

As a photo I prefer the blue, but the one you entered had the better reflection, so it was the right one for the challenge.

I agree with previous posters, you entered the right one. The reflection really makes the shot.

I like the second shot much better than the first. It seems very natural and there's a softness in that one.
