I have read recently a few books on photo restoration and retouching. The latest have been books by Katrin Eisman who is a wonderful author, i must say, However she only has a few books and non on the subject i am intrested in learning, other then the ones i have read. I have also read books from Micheal Walke, and Neil barstow.
I am looking for a book aimed at color correction/photo retouching. So often is society confused about the true definition of photo retouching.
I am not looking for photo restoration already a master at that hours and hours of practicing. Also alot of books are aimed at showing users how to use photoshop.
I am not looking for that either. I know to much about photoshop cs/2. I jus want a book on retouching and color correcting.
I am hoping that someone out that has read book that they can highly recommend thanks for your replies.

There's a book called Color Confidence by Tim Grey that may be what your looking for. It has a lot of information about calibration etc.

I read parts of it a while back. Time for a review. When I get home I can provide more details about the content.

martin evening sounds good although its a CS book and its more then likely going to very broad and general where as i am looking for something thats extremely tailored to color correction/photo retouching. However after looking at the table of contents the book seems intrested and is on my list for viewing at the local barnes and nobels. Color Confidence by tim grey seems ok but let me ask have you ever read a book and not learn anything from it and at the end the only thing the book serves for is refernece? Thats what happen to me when i read Digital Color Correction by Micheal Walker, the book was well written but more geared toward the color correction scientist someone who really knew like every single color space that exisisted.
If you look at this site Amazon.com
the book that i bought is paired and advertised along with the book from tim grey |

Expansion on my previous post.
Color Confidence is subtitled 'The Digital Photographer's Guide to Color Management'. It covers the entire workflow from obtaining images either via scanning or from a digital camera through to printing. It talks about calibration, profiling etc. as well as colour correction within Photoshop.
It doesn't just cover one calibration method either. It compares different packages available as well as Adobe Gamma.
Time for me to re-read it.
