Just found out about John Pfahl's altered landscapes work in class this past week. He placed things like string, tape, and other objects in a scene, often forming perfect geometric figures, making it look almost 2dimensional. Really messing around with the sense of space. I did one of my own for fun with duct tape and found it way more difficult than I expected. Just wanted to see what you think? Is it clear what is going on?
Here's a side view showing the setup.
Next time I'll do it outdoors somewhere

That looked so cool I decided to do what you haven't taken the time to do, and "adjust" the image so it all shows better; hope you don't mind :-)
This is something I've always had in mind doing myself, way back to when we photographed a glass catalogue with a view camera and giant panes of glass in the wilderness; we did some strange things there, this was in the late 70's I think. It got me thinking about illusions int he midst of reality, and I though about tape, ropes, studd like that defining unreal shapes. Never did anything about it though. Cool stuff!

I like the effect. It's cool. Sorta reminds me of those HP commercials where the people hold pictures up and one second they are just frames and the next it's an actual picture. I wonder if they got any inspiration from Pfahl. |

WOW!
I haven't come across John Pfahl's work but will search it out now.
Your attempt is EXCELLENT!
