Just got a PM asking about my studio space. Thought others might find it helpful as well so I'll repeat my answer here...
My studio is a converted garage. The backdrop is a roll of white paper ($44 from Amvona.com). Its hung with airline cable which makes it really easy to use.
I have several other backdrops also, but chose not to use them for this shoot because they liked the white best and it worked best for most of the looks we wanted to try.
I have another backdrop hung about 4 feet from the back wall of the studio which gives me a nice little changing room behind it.
Lighting is described earlier in this thread.

Originally posted by gaurawa: Looks like you had fun. But in some of the images, I believe you didn't achieve what you wanted to ( from your pre-shoot thread). e.g. pic 04 is the opposite of what you wanted to do. It seems to enhance what you were trying to avoid.
pic 22 I believe is a success. |
LOL I definitely had varied levels of success keeping her looking balanced. but c'mon, THOSE are hard to hide! :)

I noticed that a lot of the shots you took from a higher perspective which had her looking up at you and as such made the focus more on her face and big smile (all face and smile)!!, I dont think that it does her justice. I much prefer the shots taken on a level plane ... hope this makes sense???

Another question, you say this is for a calendar? Is she selling this nationally, locally, for charity? I ask because of the wedding ring. While it might not bother most guys, looking at a girl, part of the illusion, fantasy is that she's available and they might just have a chance with her, the ring kills that idea off big time. How do you think she would react if you cloned it out? It's a beautiful ring but........
