I currently have 2 B400s and want to purchase two more lights. I was thinking about getting 2 B800s. Issues I have with this idea:
1. Am I looking at power issues with 4 lights. I sure would like to avoid burning down my house or popping the breakers every shot.
2. How hard would it be to balance the lights with 2 being much more powerful. Plus I'm shooting in a 12x18' room I wonder if they will be to powerful to use in an area like that.

As long as you have the lights on seperate circuits you should be ok, but I'm no electrician.
If you really worry about uneven power, then you can either always set the 800s to 1 stop down (which would make them 400 w/s units) or you could upgrade the B400 units by sending them in and asking they be upgraded. The pricing is on the site, and if you feel it is necessary, it's an option.

If you're shooting with 4 lights in a 12x18 room, surely a couple of them are gonna be bounced or diffused in some way? I can't see 4 lights all pointed at the subject straight on... So if you bounce/diffuse the 800s, you'll knock a stop or so off anyway. Plus you can dial them down.

Thanks. I think that's the way to go then. I'm gonna post a seperate thread on my next question.
