I just got home from vacation last night to find out that my âWhatâ challenge entry had been disqualified. Apparently you have to provide the original within 48 hours after requested. Iâm a little bummed because the picture was doing better than my previous two entries. Dang it!

It sounds like you didn't know about the 48 hour thing? Were you on vacation?

You may want to double check those boxes that you're marking off when you submit. One of them says "If requested, I will provide the unedited, original file from my digital camera within 48 hours."

Yeah I left for vacation on Thursday. I had a copy of what I thought was the original on my work computer but apparently it wasn't. I had saved it in photoshop. I didn't make it home in time to submit the proper picture. Oh well...

If you know you're going on vacation during the voting period, is there a way to submit the original beforehand to avoid being DQ'd later?

If voting has started, I know about the 'request admin note'. How about going on vacation before voting has started?

You can use the same "Request Admin Note" button and tell them that you don't want a note, but you are on vacation and want your photo to be validated. I have done this before.

If you are leaving before the voting starts, your best option is to post the original in an accessible place (e.g. your own site) and email 2-3 SC members with a link -- we can then upload it for you if there's a validation request.

Second choice would be to email the original as an attachment to 2-3 SC members.

Guess I didn't pay attention to the fine detail. I'm glad to know that there's options. I honestly didn't think twice about it being validated. I've never had it happen before. However, I've only entered two challenges so all this is fairly new to me.

Live and learn......
