In retrospect, I'm not sure it was such a wise idea to drive 600 miles to stand in the rain with my camera for a few hours, but it was still a fun day nonetheless...!

I went to my daughter's soccer game and sat in the rain instead. Apparently I chose the right game to watch :) (she won 5-3)

I live about 20 miles north of Cinci, but I'm only a fair weather Bengals Fan, but a diehard Reds Fan.

Great shots!

Were you using your d70s I assume? Did you use a cover or anything to protect it from the rain? If so, what...or is it ok out in some minor rain??? Thanks.

Yep... D70s...

Last season I found a golf club cover at Wal-Mart for $3. It is meant to be a rain cover for the tops of clubs, and it works perfectly as a camera cover. It has a bungee opening at one end (where I stick the lens through), and there's a nice, big flap that I can open to reveal the camera body while I'm shooting. It has velcro on that end so I can fasten the end together in between plays.

It worked very well, and actually looked remarkably similar to other products that were meant for the task. I saw several Aquatech products, which looked pretty sweet (the guy from GettyImages had one that had the Getty logo embroidered on it), but I see they also have a rather steep price tag. I think my $3 was well-spent... :)

Oh, and I saw Holyfam at the game, and he said he paid $20-ish at B&H for a cover for his Canon.
