There are these trees on Goat Island in Niagara Falls, NY, that have been there for years. Their shape and the way the wind/snow/rain blow against them makes them all the more interesting - at least for me.

After my "Cold, snow-blown trees of Goat Island..." finished so well here in Jan. 2004, I decided to go back for 3 more seasons to see and record what these same trees looked like. While the seasons weren't consecutive (I waited over a year to take the next photo with the Spring '05 season), ...you get the idea.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Great idea indeed. I love your winter shot the best. It's so beautiful in its frostiness. Saw how it was improved over your challenge entry and really wonderful work. The rest are ok but doesn't really bring out their respective seasons in my mind.

you should put them all in a frame.

I appreciate the comments. Robt, I agree that the current 'Winter' version is an improvement over the original. Some of the comments made on that challenge image indicated that the greyness enhanced the mood. I can understand that, but still like the modified one.

Evan, thanks for the suggestion on framing these. I actually have the first three (w/o the Fall shot) in a frame. They do look much better there than on a monitor...

Wow, what a neat sequence of pictures. I have often thought of doing something like that. I think your shots will inspire me to get off my butt and start. Thanks Len.

This is entirely too cool. I've been kicking around a few variants of this idea myself. Outstanding job. You're in my favs for this!

PS: make a four-quadrant print of this, at least 16x24 or similar. I'll be your first customer. It's THAT good.

I think they are wonderful shots.. are you going to do that tryphtickamajig thing.. *laughing at myself* .. I might post edit that spelling or maybe not. ~tilt~

I really really like the first in the series the emotion it provides with those dark grey colors really spoke to me :)

Doing a seasonal follow up sequence is inspiring.. thank you for that :)

Thanks, John, and everyone else here who's been so kind with comments. I may very well make such a 4-quadrant print (...hmmm, if three prints make a tryptich, what do you call that 4-quadrant print??), and make it available in DPCPrints - for cheap, of course ;-).

This was a fun project. While not a lot of work, it takes some "stick-to-it-edness" to remember to go back each of the four seasons. It also doesn't hurt to have four distinct seasons like we have here in Western NY.
