I know sometimes we have an end of the year "Best of" challenge. I imagine this year such a challenge would get a bit "large". So I was thinking...

Why not "End of the Year" (choose one)

Best "Landscape/Scene" (Landscape, seascapes, cityscapes, nightscapes, buildings, monuments, etc.)
Best "Wildlife/Nature" (Panoramic, eagle in flight, macro insect, etc.)
Best "Portrait/Object" (Models, pets, still life, etc.)
Best "Action" (Movement, waves, cars, jets, balls, people, etc.)
Best "Illusion or Abstract or Trick" (Illusions, Trick Photography, abstract colors & objects, most any doesn't fit the mold shots.)

You could choose one to enter, perhaps "paid members" may enter 2 categories. All challenges would be advanced (even for non-paid members). This might allow for a shot that was really good but needed some advanced editing to fix it up to be entered.

I like this idea. The use of categories would make it easier to vote as well as we wouldn't be comparing portraits to buildings etc.
