Canon EOS-300D Rebel is saying error 99 and not letting work in manual mode.
Anyone had that before? what can be done to fix this?

sometimes it happens to my 300D too. I usually remove the battery, place it back and the error is gone.. hope it helps! |

Sometimes it can just be the lens contacts, just try on/off or remove /replace lens. I use to get it sometimes with my 70 -200 but no other lens. |

It's not broke - just confused. Shut it off. Remove batteries and wait 15 seconds. Reload and power up. You may have to do this a few times. Previous advice about lens contacts also. DO NOT CLEAN with eraser. Use Q-tip and isopropyl alcohol or Eclipse fluid.
The 70/200 is notorious for goofy quirks - no one knows why. Best darned lens around but kinda fickle at times.
