I'm 19 and I want to go to college somewhere in England. Does anyone know of some good schools there?
Thanks!

Oxford and Cambridge have far-reaching reputations ... I don't know about their admissions.

====
An American tourist was visiting Oxford University, and was overwhelmed by the luxuriant and dense lawns he found there.

"This grass is amazing! How do you do it?" he asked one of the gardeners.

"It's pretty simple," was the reply. "After it's seeded, you water it, mow it, and roll it; then water it, mow it, roll it -- and just keep doing that for 600 years."

Not sure I can recommend any... But I'd decide what exactly you want to study and at what level. Then you can pick the best for that discipline!

Try THE PUSH GUIDE I think its mostly universities, but it will tell you stuff the offical prospectus's don't, and is great for sounding out an area. Practically all my mates chose places based on the male:female ratio!

Good luck dood!

According to "your" profile your name is Bob and you're 30 years old. What gives?

Maybe it's Bob's son? ...or maybe his name is Chit and he's a five year old Hungarian boy looking to rake leaves on the lush grass of Oxford University.

Lots of good schools averywhere in England, Scotland and Wales.

You can;t apply to the schools individually. There is a central clearance system where you put down your preferences. I think it's called UCAS or something like that. Google and find out the details.

You should decide subject, big city/small city environment and then look on the internet and do a virtual visit.

What qualifications have you got already and what subject do you want to study at what level? Degree? Masters? lower than degree?

Do you have any idea what you want to do when you leave and what type of environment do you want to be in - rural, city, small college or large?

Let me know and I will give you a few pointers and let you know where to look for info on applying. UCAS is the British organisation for British students and you need to apply in the year before you want to start. Not sure this is the best method for foreign students or even if it accepts them so I will investigate for you.

By the way I am a headteacher and have had 2 children go through university system so I have a bit of experience in this artea.

Be aware that the DEADLINES for applications through UCAS is January 15th!! You will also need a reference by one of your former teachers. If you want to go to the UK next year, you need to start NOW. Go to ucas.com for application. Choose 6 universities of your choice, you may afterwards choose among those who accepted you.

The deadline for Cambridge and Oxford is past: October 15th.

I'll go to England for the next three years, so if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

I'd recommend edinburgh, of course :) It's not exactly in england, but it's worth the drive... it canes pretty much everything aside from oxbridge. Well, depends what you want to do i suppose.

wait wait wait. let's reestablish this trash talking between english and irish. that part was fun. especially when arguing about grammar. funny. but then again, my "english" is "american english" and probably is wrong both to you both and both my teachers and my peers.....

(both sentences were intentionally stupid and stupidly used the word both).
