How do you like this one?
Here's one more older one that I found of Niagra Falls. I ran it through Neat Image to get rid of some of the noise. (taken with FZ20)

Honestly I think the NI might have killed it. It seems to be very soft with little or no detail. Potentially it's a good shot and I like the colors a lot.

Ok, here it is without the Neat Image applied. Do you like this one better?

Where did you take your shot from? My most recent challenge entry is similar:



but you have a lot more "rock" in the left foreground...

Looks like I was pretty close to where you were! We were across the street from it. I sat my camera on that wide rock wall since I didn't have a tripod. Yours looks clearer but then I was using the FZ20 at the time & you used a much better camera and lens.

Hmmm. Looks like camera shake may have been the issue and not the NI. I see what you were talking about with the noise issues. FWIW, the NI did do a good job of getting rid of the noise. :-)

Hmmmm, could be. You would think that with the camera sitting on a rock wall, that camera shake wouldn't be much of a problem. Darn, I just thought of something though. I'll bet I still had the IS turned on. That probably caused it.

Did you use a remote or time release?

No, I pressed the shutter button myself, VERY gently. But I don't think I knew about cutting off the Image Stabilzer back then, so that was probably on. Since it was sitting on the rock wall (equiv. to a tripod, etc.) that's probably what did it.
