If anyone's interested, I'm selling a brand new Canon 17-40 lens on eBay. It's never even been mounted on a camera. I got a good deal on it, so I'm selling for less than B&H or Adorama (the reserve is $600).

just a question shannon, why you selling it?

I bought it for myself because I needed a good wide angle lens, but then found an even better deal on the Canon 10-22 before it arrived. I don't need both.

Well I can't just let the giraffe wander around naked, can I? What would the neighbors think? ;-P

seems like you could have took a better photo of it......;-)

A lens I would really like to have but just can't.

I"m also curious as to why you would sell an L-lens that you would be able to use on any of the full framed Canon bodies. The 10-22 is an EF-S and will only be compatible with the consumer level DSLRs.

The 10-22 is better suited to my current needs, and I'm VERY unlikely to get a full frame camera anytime soon. If I eventually do, then I'll simply sell the 10-22.

Was the better deal at retail? I'm looking into buying this lens and will take any tips I can get on lowering the price tag. ;)

It was a coupon at Dell that's now expired. Sorry!
