I agree about the timeframe for ordering the prints. I have in my contract that the price is good for 6 months after they receive the proofs. They can still order after that time, of course, but would be subject to any price increase I've instituted since then.
I haven't done a large wedding yet. One was a gift and they simply received the CD with full files. The other one they did order prints through me. It seems I keep taking baby steps, getting a little more involved each time, and that works for me! :) |

When Marnie and I got married it took us over a year before we ordered our prints... |

My gut reaction on reading all this is to agree with Alan. It seems to me, based on what you yourself are saying, that the job was done poorly. WHY this happened is irrelevant; the results are not close to as good as they could have been. I suspect that the bride is even more "worried sick" than you are. I'd be concerned about that, and only that. She's in a hell of a lot worse spot than you are, after all; you'll have more weddings, she (hopefully) won't, and certainly not to this husband...
I'd make a couple GOOD prints, the best you can make, and send them to her gratis to show what's possible, I think.
Back in my pro days, we occasionally came up way short of our own standards on a job. I never charged the clients when that happened, and sold them prints at cost.
Robt.

I have read through most of the posts and apart from largely agreeing with Alan and bear, I can add nothing to help with your dilemma. I can react to the subject line of your thread, though...
Good luck. :) |

I sat down this weekend and redid all the pictures. I used opticverve and removed alot of the blue tint that was in alot of the outdoor shots.
I uploaded them on to my Fotki album (all smaller sized and watermarked) and I have emailed her several times to let her know what I have been doing. She hasn't contacted me since last monday to let me know what is going on. I guess that is my biggest gripe about all of this. I just wish she would let know what is going on. I call her and email her and she don't get back to me. And when she does, she is very nasty. Ugh
I am already going to offer her a free 11x14 print when she orders.
I have learned alot from this and while I won't stop shooting weddings, I will be more careful next time.
Lorrie
I also wanted to post a few of the pics to show you how much I improved them.

The fixes look good, Lorrie. Sounds like you're doing the best you can at this point - just be patient with her and don't be tooooo apologetic - that might lead her to think you are scared of being sued.
By the way, she doesn't look anything like I pictured - she's not even green! And where is the groom and why is he letting her dance with that short guy? ;-) Keep Smilin! |

100% improvement after the re-edits. I would think she would be much happier with them now. |
