what is the average light ratio on a sunny day?

What do you mean by 'average light ratio' -- I assume your wanting light as it relates to something, to make the ratio, but what?

There is a standard rule of thumb that has been in use for many, many years called the 'Sunny 16 Rule'. You can read about it and other related things here.

The article linked to earlier goes into this -- even includes a chart at the bottom displaying the relative dynamic range at different light intensities.

However, the dynamic range (the difference between highlight and shadow) is very subject dependant.
